Q : Are these compatible with Dewalts new wireless tool control system, turning the new vacuum cleaners on automatically when the tool is used?
A : Hi David - no, not at present I'm afraid.
Q : Does this act as a gps so if any of my tools are stolen can I track them.
A : Unfortunately, this does not have its own GPS, The Tool Connect will only give a Last Seen Address when connected to your phone and the App via Bluetooth. Once the tool leaves the Bluetooth connection the unit can be set so the machine will stop working and a notification will appear in the app. The only way to remove this unit once connected to the tool is to force the housing open and dismantle the tool connect.
Q : So would I have to buy one for every item of my 12 piece kit
A : I can confirm that once attached to a tool this connector cannot be removed. Based on this you would require one for every tool you want to convert to the Tool Connect system. You can also connect non-Dewalt tools to your Tool Connect inventory using DeWalt DCE041K4 Tool Connect Tags.
Q : Hi if my work takes me overseas to Australia, would I still be able to have full functionality of the tool connect devices.
A : I can confirm that as long as you can connect to the Tool Connect device via Bluetooth using the Tool Connect app you can control the device however you will not be able to activate a device in the UK if you are in Austrailia as you need to connect to the device via a Bluetooth connection.
