Does the job

It powers on and appears to work. It heats up quickly. However, for a unit at this price I would not trust it with anything serious. The temperature is not accurate and the cord is stiff. I have not had any issues, but I would always be cautious with a station this cheap.

So you only publish good reviews?

I wrote a review of this product almost a year ago which was less than complimentary ... speaking to you on the phone some months later, I was told that the manufacturer was being given the chance to address the points I raised, but they were clearly dragging their feet. Despite assurances to the contrary, I never heard anything from either them or you subsequently, so I can only guess that my review - which was truthful and fair - has been dumped. Am I right? To recap, I had two major issues. The first was that the LED which was supposed to indicate when the tip was at temperature (the decimal point on the display, IIRC) didn't actually indicate any such thing - it's largely guesswork as to when the unit is ready. But most importantly, the lead from the controller to the iron is far too stiff, and frequently gets in the way and / or gets caught on the hot tip of the iron. Having used a Weller station for many years before this one, I was at the time or purchase - and remain - disappointed with the Xytronic product. In fairness, I will say (as I did before) that it performs the job it was designed to do ... but speaking ergonomically, I wouldn't recommend it. Would you care to publish my comment this time?

Very good soldering station

I bought this to build motor mechanisms for model trams. It is very good. I heats up quickly and does just what I need it to. And the service from Rapid was superb, very fast delivery and helpful technical support team.
